I have over 25 years experience as a school social worker.  My experience includes working with children of all ages, challenging abilities as well as various mental illnesses.  During my career, I have enjoyed working with students who need support with concerns such as grief and loss, divorce, anger management, emotional regulation, social skills, self-esteem, depression, anxiety and crisis intervention.  I have also had the pleasure of working with parents and teaching parenting classes with the STEP model (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) and the Love and Logic model.

I believe the ingredients to good and effective therapy include equal parts of:

*Instilling Encouragement, Empowerment, Positivity and Hope

*Providing Active Listening, and Validating Strengths

*Having a meaningful relationship of Trust, Mutual Respect, being Non-Judgemental and  Confidential

*Creating an Effective Treatment Plan which is mutually agreed upon with Meaningful and Realistic Goals

*Offering Practical Interventions and Useful Resources
